I meant to post something during the holiday weekend, but I didn't. I didn't even go and check out The Whiskey Rebel's Website from Friday until today.

--LESS THAN ONE WEEK AWAY FROM KOTDM 2001!!
IWA Mid-South Hardcore Wrestling returned to the House of Hardcore in Charlestown, IN last night, 5/26. Here is what went down, courtesy of http://www.iwamidsouthwrestling.com/
1. Corporal Robinson def. Paul E. Smooth with the bootcamp. Paul E. came out to Corp's music and dressed like Corp and pointed out that they even had matching scars on their stomachs. This infuriated Corporal and the fight was on. Corporal dominated most of the match even though Paul E. did get in a shot with a lighttube. After the match, Corporal hit another Boot Camp and then proclaimed that last year he was runner up in KOTDM and this year he intends on winning it.
2. Hido def. Cash Flo. Some heavy chops were exchanged in this matchup. Towards the end, the ref Brent Blades got hit by accident with a splash in the corner. Hido hit a Van Daminator of sorts on Cash and went for the pin. Realizing the ref was down, Hido went to check on Brent. This allowed Suicide Kid to run in and hit Cash with the Suicide Solution. Hido was only able to get a two count out of it. Cash recovered and took back over but Kid distracted the ref. This allowed Colt Cabana to come out and hit Cash Flo with a sitdown backbreaker. Hido was able to get the pin following that move.
3. Chris Hero w/ Jim Fannin defeated Mark Wolf w/ Summer in a submissions match. Mark spent the match going after Hero's arm. Hero spent the match working over Mark's back. Fannin repeatedly interfered by raking Mark in the eyes or pulling Hero's foot over to the bottom rope to get out of submission moves. Summer finally got involved in the contest hitting a tornado ddt onto Hero. Mark cinched in the Fujiwara armbar but the ref was trying to remove Summer from the ring. This allowed Fannin an opportunity to slide into the ring and break up the hold. Mark went after him and that opened up Hero to applying a Boston Crab. Hero repeatedly put his head on the turnbuckle in the corner ala Stan Hansen to Rick Martel to finally get Mark Wolf to submit. After the match, Hero talked about retiring the American Kickboxer and the joy that brought him. He then said that Mark Wolf was next if he didn't get out of his business.
4. Rugby Thug Trent Baker w/ Hero and Fannin retained the IWA Mid-South Heavyweight Title by defeating CM Punk w/ Dave Prazak. Nice back and forth match until CM Punk hit his Pepsi Plunge (top rope pedigree). While going for the cover, Hero and Fannin jumped Prazak. This brought CM Punk over to try to stop them and Fannin hit him in the face with a cloud of Gold Bond Powder. Thug took advantage and hit his gutwrench into the X-Factor for the pin.
5. Colt Cabana defeated Suicide Kid 2-1 in a two out of three falls match. The first fall was won by Cabana with the same sitdown backbreaker that he used on Cash Flo. The second fall went to Suicide Kid with the Suicide Solution. The third fall saw the two score several near falls as each tried to gain the upper hand in this series of matches to determine who is the best in the midwest. Kid whipped Colt into the ropes and went for a clothesline but Cabana ducked and applied an abdominal stretch. Cabana immediately went to the mat with a rollup and gained the pinfall. Cash Flo tried to run in and gain revenge on both Kid and Cabana for their involvement in his earlier match. He was unsuccessful and immediately left when he didn't have the upper hand. Cabana then went on to challenge Cash to a match the next time he comes down to Charlestown.
6. Mean Mitch Page def. Necro Butcher in a falls count anywhere fans bring the weapons match. This was an insane matchup that featured three hellacious moments. The first came when the two did a Rocker Dropper onto two lighttubes on top of a chair out on the floor. The brawl continued until Necro pulled out the lighter fluid and once again set his jeans on fire and hit a flaming legdrop off the second rope. Necro had to get the fire out on his jeans so he was unable to capitalize. Mitch recovered and eventually got the advantage. He then took a towel and wrapped it around his head. He climbed up to the top rope and squirted lighter fluid onto the towel. He then set the towel on fire and connected with a flaming diving headbutt from the top rope for the pinfall. These two men were pulling out all the stops leading up to KOTDM next weekend. Mitch then cut a promo on how winning KOTDM is his destiny. He has been to Japan, wrestled on the JCW tour, been IWA heavyweight champ and now it is his time to win KOTDM. And since Pondo wants to face the winner, it will be a battle of the MMPs and he will earn the respect of Pondo by defeating him one on one.
Great show from start to end and it is available.
