The following match results from last night's IWA Mid-South show come from the IWA Mid-South Newsletter.

IWA MID-SOUTH NEWS FOR 5/24/01
----------------------------------------------
by Stacy McMackin, Moderator

Last night, 5/23, IWA Mid-South Hardcore Wrestling returned to the IWA House of Hardcore in Charlestown, IN. Here are your results, courtesy of http://www.iwamidsouthwrestling.com/

1. Corporal Robinson defeated the debuting Taxi Driver Anthony McMurphy. After the end of the match, Alcatraz made a return to the IWA attacking Corporal Robinson and leaving him a bloody mess.

2. FMW star Hido defeated Mean Mitch Page. This match was very good and saw the action go all over the place. Mad Man Pondo made some disrespectful comments towards Hido before the match.

3. Chris Hero defeated Mark Wolf 4-3 in the 30 minute iron man match. Mark took the first fall about 30 seconds into the match when he threw a banana peel on the mat and Hero slipped on it. Hero tied the match up hitting the Hero's Welcome. Mark Wolf quickly went back up by hitting the slop drop to go up 2-1. Hero garnered a tie by placing his feet on the ropes to get it to 2-2. Mark Wolf again got the advantage by going up 3-2 with a backslide. Chris Hero was able to tie it at 3 following a top rope elbow drop. The match stayed tied up till about one minute left when Jim Fannin interfered by getting on the apron as Mark was about to hit another slop drop. Mark chased to the ropes to try and hit Fannin but that allowed Hero to grab him from behind and hit the Hero's Welcome.

4. BJ Whitmer came out in a sling along with Hero and Fannin. Fannin proceeded to tell the crowd that BJ couldn't wrestle due to a seperated shoulder that he suffered while saving a baby from a burning building by being a superhero. Ian Rotten came out and said that if BJ could not wrestle then he would wrestle Hero. Hero declined since he just wrestled 30 minutes. Fannin agreed to "wrestle" but pulled the ref in front of him as Ian came for him. That allowed Cash Flo enough time to come out and attack Ian from behind. Cash demanded the envelope with his payoff and Fannin gave it to him and the match was on. Hardhitting action all over the building that saw Cash Flo take advantage only to have Ian Rotten retake the control. The end came as Ian hit the double arm ddt. BJ, Hero and Fannin split. Ian got on the mic and told Cash he should check the envelope. Cash opened it to find that the "15 big bills" were all $1 bills.

5. Mad Man Pondo def. Necro Butcher in a fans bring the weapons match with some help from Mean Mitch Page. They brawled around the building doing insane stuff. Necro Butcher put a lightbulb tube on Pondo's face and headbutted it to break it. They suplexed each other on the ring steps. Butcher even bit a piece of glass off of a lighttube. The end started as Necro Butcher set his jean legs on fire and hit a flaming legdrop onto Pondo. That cause Mitch to break the count and it went to 2 on 1 from there. Pondo got the win after taping lighttubes to his back and placing a ladder across 2 chairs. They placed Necro on the ladder and then Mitch proppelled Pondo off the top rope into a somersault backsplash onto Necro Butcher. After the match, Pondo challenged the winner of the King of the Death Matches to a contest when he returns from Japan and if Pondo wins, he will be declared the KOTDM 2001.

IWA returns this Saturday night, 5/26. Bell time is 8pm. Fan club members can reserve their tickets in advance by calling the IWA Hotline at 502-569-1701. We'll give you the lineup as soon as it's announced.

DIRECTIONS TO THE IWA HOUSE OF HARDCORE
----------------------------------------------
Directions to the IWA House Of Hardcore From Louisville: Take I-65 North to exit 6A. From there you will take exit 10B. This leads you into Charlestown, Indiana. Follow that road for about 7 miles (stay in the right lane because it will split with Indiana-3). Past the split, you will come across a gravel road next to a sign for IWA Wrestling. Take a right on that gravel road and the IWA House of Hardcore will be on your left side. If coming from the North: Take I-65 South to exit 6A. Then follow the directions above.

French Lake Wrestling Association
5/19 Big Lake, MN
at Hero's Sports Complex, 7 p.m.
In front of a small crowd at Hero's Bar in Big Lake, the FLWA returned to action with a solid card.

Match 1: Mitch Paradise (f) pinned Chi-Town Thug (h).
Paradise was working a double shot with a match later in the night at Grumpy's in Minneapolis so he was in the opener. Finish came when Paradise caught Chi-Town with a full nelson slam and pinned him.

Match 2: Pit Boss with the High Rollers (h) pinned Big Daddy Hoofer (f).
This was a pretty entertaining match. Finish came when Hoofer hit Pit Boss with a super kick and caught him in the submission move, the Shark Trap. However, Mago came in the ring and hit Hoofer with a chair as STX distracted referee Dynamite Joe. Pit Boss scored the pin after the chair shot and a DDT on the chair.

Match 3: JB Trask & Johnny Parks (h) went to a double count out with Dr. Darin Davis and Primetime (f).
Trask and Parks were managed by McCoy Counterfeit, who came to the ring in a doctor's outfit and called himself the world's greatest genacologist. Parks and Trask have a good look together. This match was real slow for the first several minutes, but started to heat up late. Late in the match, all four were in the ring and Davis and Primetime gave Trask and Parks train wreck in the middle of the ring. Parks, Trask and Primetime brawled on the outside as gimmick-stealer Counterfeit hopped in the ring to take advantage of Davis. Doc turned things around and gave Counterfeit the examine of a lifetime and I think his rubber glove even broke in the process. Ick! The legal men were counted out on the outside. After the match, Primetime, who was managed by Counterfeit the last time at Hero's, turned on Davis and the three beat the heck out of the doctor.

Match 4: K-Train with the High Rollers (h) pinned Terry Fox (f) to win the commissionership of the FLWA.
Before the match, Mago of the High Rollers said he was a betting man and wanted to gamble with Fox. He bet Fox that if Fox lost, Mago would be commissioner, but if K-Train lost, the High Rollers would leave the FLWA. Finish came when Fox caught K-Train with a power slam, but referee Blind Jay Soltis went over to argue with Mago and STX climbed in the ring and hit Fox with a cookie sheet and put K-Train on top for the pin.

Match 5: Matt Burns (h) pinned Robbie Thunder (f).
Before the match, a waitress came over and gave Burns a shot of alcohol. Referee Jay Soltis commented on Burns' wrestling training at this point. Solid, fast-paced match that was fun to watch. Both men were aggressive and pushed the pace. Burns hit Thunder with a senton and a standing moonsault. Finish came when Burns' manager, Autumn Hayze, threw him a foreign object as Soltis was distracted again. Burns hit Thunder with the object as Thunder went for a suplex. Burns pinned him.

Match 6: Scott Zappa (h) pinned Rikki Noga (f).
Another good, fast-paced match that was worth watching. Noga's nose ended up bloody. Finish came when Zappa hit Noga with a huge clothesline and pinned him as referee Erickson came to after being knocked out and scored the pin with a handful of trunks.

Wrestle America 2000
5/19 Minneapolis, MN
at Grumpy's Bar on Washington Avenue
Wrestling drew a small crowd on a beautiful Saturday in May.

1.) Ashley Xavier (heel) pinned Lacey (face). No bell was brought to the show. Lacey was introduced as being from "The Dollhouse." Ashley flipped Lacey over with the classic women's wrestling move, the "hair mare." Lacey got in a spinning heel kick. Ashley won with a crossbody powerslam.

2.) Shawn Daivari (face) pinned Shifty (heel). There was a kid in the audience front row center. Shifty worked the kid hard and made him the center of attention. Daivari dominated early with a standing bulldog and a huracanrana. When he missed a corner move he rammed his shoulder into the ring post. Shifty took over with a body slam, a belly to back suplex, and a powerslam. Shawn countered with a modified Kasahara driver. Later, as Daivari came off of the top rope, Shifty met him with a drop kick. He went for a pin but SD rolled him up instead in a Mexican suitcase. It's good to see Shifty as a heel again.

3.) Morgan P. R. (face) pinned Playboy Pete Huge (heel). At the start Morgan said to Pete "Let's go Sally!" He controlled PPH with a Behl throw and an over the shoulder powerslam. The Playboy took over with an eye rake, and got in a DDT and a spinning heel kick. Then he tried a body slam, but couldn't get his foe up. Morgan then slammed Huge, put on a bear hug, tossed Pete to the mat, and got the pin. Almost a squash.

4.) Derrick Dukes (face) pinned Ian Xavier (w/ Ashley, heels). This match was the Ian Xavier Show. He worked the kid in the audience: "Shut your cake hole!" and worked over Dukes with brawling offense. Derrick picked him up crossbody but couldn't hold the "Lethbridge Leviathan" and fell back to the mat. Dukes came back with a drop kick, and won with an over the top rope shoulder block. After the pin a customer called Ian "fat boy." He replied, "Lay off the beer you drunk bastard."

5.) Black Stallion (face) pinned Sheriff Johnny Emerald (heel). BS got a pop when he came out. Apparently, he sold a lot of tickets. Emerald wrestled in his wrestling trunks, not his uniform. Stallion started off on top with a salto. SJE responded with an eyedrag along the top rope. Then he tried a crossbody block but BS caught him and gave him three back breakers. Next he missed a splash and Johnny went on the attack, saying "You remember Rodney King?" Stallion won with his over the shoulder slam. After the match SJE attacked the ref.

6.) Big Daddy Hoofer (w/Ian Xavier) pinned Mitch Paradise (w/ Sheik Adnan al Kassie). This match violated the essential dualism of professional wrestling. It was impossible to tell who was good and who was evil. Xavier got the crowd to do a "Sheik's a freak" chant. Hoofer struck first with a kind of forward suplex. Mitch responded with a fallaway slam. Big Daddy answered with a shoulder tackle and a classic, vertical neckbreaker. Mitch followed with two shoulder breakers. The end came when the Sheik held BDH, Paradise went to hit him but Hoofer ducked and Mitch nailed Adnan instead. Mitch then started jawing with Ian Xavier, allowing Hoofer to hit an inverted DDT and gain the surprise win.

Absent from this card was any out of the ring brawling that made the previous show memorable.

Great Lakes Championship Wrestling
5/19 Cedarburg, WI
at Circle B, 8 p.m.
Attendance: 324.

The Skullkrusher defeated Mason Diggs, Derrick St. Holmes, Esq., and Medallion in a Fatal Four Way.

GLCW owner Dave Herro named Alexis as the commissioner. Alexis said she would make sure the "boys" would play fair and that she would keep GLCW in order.

Brandon Blaze pinned Brad Hunter.

The Southern Mississippi Militia defeated "God's Gift" Kevin Krueger and Ice Walters.

"Shootfighter" Adrian Serrano defeated The King Ping by submission when "The Love Machine" Matt Longtime refused to wrestle a "shooter." After the match Love Machine attacked Serrano from behind. Commissioner Alexis declared that Love Machine would have to wrestle Serrano later in the evening.

Eric Freedom came out to the ring and said he does not want to wrestle the Road Dogg and that Dave Herro booked the match for his own amusement. Freedom said he will not wrestle Road Dogg but instead he wanted to wrestle Dave Herro. Herro made his way to the ring only to be blindsided and bronco busted by Freedom. Road Dogg hit the ring to make the save until he was attacked by Filthy McNasty. Mc Nasty and Freedom worked over Road Dogg until Skullkrusher ran in and made the save. Commissioner Alexis changed the main event to Freedom and McNasty vs. Road Dogg and Skullkrusher.

"The Love Machine" Matt Longtime beat "Shootfighter." Adrian Serrano after King Pin used his bowling ball bag to hit Serrano in the back. Longtime left the ring with Serrano's belts and declared himself the GLCW Shootfighting Champion.

Iron Mike Samson defeated Adrian Lynch with his feet on the ropes.

The Road Dogg and Skullkrusher defeated McNasty and Freedom after Road Dogg hit Freedom with the "Doggy Punch," "Shaky knee," and pump handle slam. After the match Road Dogg and Skullkrusher held Freedom for a Herro stinkface.

Iron Range Championship Wrestling
5/19 Virginia, MN
Miner's Memorial Arena
The start of the show begins with Clutch "The Desert Fox" Logan and ICW Champion "The Stunning One" Jeremy Halberg come to the ring and orally destroy every person in the building. Clutch Logan claimed that he was honored to be able to wrestle in front of an arena full of burn victims and was shocked when ICW Champion Jeremy Halberg informed him they were not. Halberg then started ripping into T-Rex and declared that the people didn't have to wait for the no DQ no countout Main Event for the title he was willing to put the title on the line immediately. T-Rex's music hit and out he came, all 500+lbs. of him. Halberg then said that for this very special match there should be a very special referee and named Clutch Logan the official for the Main Event. T-Rex then challenged Clutch Logan that if he had any "marbles" he would take on a local guy he had waiting in the back and the winner of the match would be the referee. Clutch and Halberg agreed. Out came "Dynamite" Dan Burdick. Dan controlled the majority of the opening moments until Logan took over with an eye rake. In the ending moments of the match Clutch Logan crotched himself on the top rope and while the referee was tending to Clutch ICW Champion Jeremy Halberg slid into the ring and waffled Burdick with his belt. Logan crawled over and scored the pinfall. Clutch Logan wins the right to be the special referee for the Main Event.

Match two: Three-way dance: Tasty Travis Lee vs. Hannibal vs. Cocky Christian Steele.
Travis Lee comes out with a victory with a Lion Sault to score the pin on Hannibal.

match three: Sweetwater Strap Match: Dirty Bart Sawyer vs. Stanley Cup.
"Dirty" Bart pulls out the win with a vicious lariat to gain the pinfall victory.

Match Four: Range War Match. Winner becomes the first ICW television champion.
The participants are: "Dirty" Bart Sawyer, Stanley Cup, Hannibal, "Dynamite" Dan Burdick, "Cocky" Christian Steele, Havoc, "Tasty" Travis Lee, Clutch "Desert Fox" Logan.
Stanley Cup came out with Hulk Hogan music and a yellow tank top the said "Cupster" he gave "Dirty" Bart the big boot and the leg drop before being eliminated. "Tasty" Travis Lee pulled out the victory when Hannibal's managed turned on him.

Match five: ICW Title Match, No DQ, No Countout, Falls Count Anywhere: "The Stunning One" Jeremy Halberg v. T-Rex.
This match was brutal. Halberg was thrown from one side of the building to the other. He was thrown into a U-Haul truck, the hockey boards. He was crushed with chairs and bounced off the ring posts. Halberg managed to get the advantage on the outside. He then climbed the top rope and took an awesome dive to the outside to take out Rex but only for a moment. T-Rex grabbed a stop sign from under the ring and wanted to crush it over Halberg head but special referee Clutch Logan got between them. Rex leveled Clutch with the stop sign and proceeded to powerbowb Halberg and followed up with a huge splash. Another referee ran in for the 1-2-3. T-Rex is the new ICW Champion.

ICW had a big screen and a really cool entrance with a lot of lights and ladders, chairs and tables. Attendance approx. 150
