Still no word on when The Blessed Reverend Axl Future will be back in MAW. I hope it's soon. June 6th is the fourth Annual "Sunday Bloody Sunday," hopefully he will be back in time for that. On June 16th, there will be a EXPLODING BARBED WIRE MATCH in MAW!

MAW NEWS FOR 05/23/01

Mid American Wrestling returned to the Knights of Columbus in West Allis, WI this past Friday night, 5/18. Here are your results...

1. FARMER VIC pinned CHUCKIE SMOOTH in the opening contest.

2. FRANKIE "The Thumper" DeFALCO defeated "Love Machine" MATT LONGTIME with a sharpshooter.

3. DAVE PRAZAK was the winner of the 3-on-1 handicap elimination tag match between DP & CM PUNK & SCOTT DeMARC (w/ Justin Roberts) and shoot fighting star ADRIAN SERRANO. First eliminated was CM PUNK via pinfall when Serrano got a pinfall with a rollup out of nowhere. Next DeMarc was eliminated via submission. Finally, just as referee CRAIG SMITH was ready to declare Serrano the winner of the contest as Prazak laid lifeless in a Serrano chinlock, DeMarc called for the bell as MAW Senior Referee, and disqualified Serrano for use of an illegal chokehold, crowning DP the victor.

4. "Classic" COLT CABANA defeated "Dysfunction" KURT KRUEGER in one of Dys's breakout matches thus far in MAW. Cabana captured the victory via pinfall after over 10 minutes of back and forth action, following an innovative backbreaker where he goes from standing with Krueger on his shoulder back-first, and quickly drops to a sitting position.

5. SKULL KRUSHER pinned DEREK ST. HOLMES, ESQUIRE (w/ Quentin).

6. CORPORAL ROBINSON and DINO BAMBINO wrestled to a no-contest in a Barbed Wire Tables & Chairs rematch from Hardcore Cup 2001.

7. IAN ROTTEN pinned 2 TUFF TONY (substituting for the injured HARDCORE CRAIG) in the main event Thumbtack Death Match. A truly brutal contest, as is usual for these competitors, which also involved a staple gun and several fluorescent lightbulb tubes. In the closing moments of the contest, "The Hustler" CARMINE DeSPIRITO and Craig came to ringside. Hustler hit Tony with the pool cue, and Craig nailed Ian. Hustler put Tony on top of Ian, and Craig then put Ian on top of Tony. Ian was then declared the winner of the bout. Ian is thus declared the #1 Contender for the MAW Championship, and (barring his #1 Contender status changing after the 6/3 event at Knights), he will face Craig for the title on 6/16 in Muskego, WI in the first ever in MAW Exploding Barbed Wire Match!

Mid American Wrestling returns to the Knights of Columbus (1800 S. 92nd Street) in West Allis, WI on Sunday evening, June 3rd. Please note the special bell time of 6:00pm. --CABANA DEFEATS KID IN 25 MIN MATCH!
--RUGBY THUG WINS IWA TITLE FROM MITCH!
--PUNK & WOLF DEFEAT HERO & WHITMER IN MAIN EVENT!

IWA Mid-South Hardcore Wrestling returned to the IWA House of Hardcore in Charlestown, IN last night, May 19th. Here is what went down...

1. CASH FLO def. RICHARD X. He continually called Richard "Kid" as in Suicide Kid while basically throwing him around the ring. He hit him with three Oh Shit Legdrops before finally pinning him. Paul E. Smooth came out and started hitting on Uncle Honkey causing Honkey to chase him to the back. Cash slapped on the Fujiwara armbar after the match until Suicide Kid and Colt Cabana made the save. This brought out Patti who started yelling at Cash. Cash said he wanted competition so Patti told him she would find him another opponent for the night to give him some competition.

2. UNCLE HONKY came out and challenged PAUL E. SMOOTH to a fight. Paul E came out and the match was on. Smooth used pychological warfare and his quickness to his advantage. Uncle Honkey went for a bearhug but Paul E. was fondling Honkey during it causing him to release the hold. Honkey went for a splash in the corner but Paul E moved and then hit a springboard double foot stomp to the gut for the quick pin.

3. CASH FLO came back out and demanded to know who PATTI had for competition. Patti went to the back and came out with NECRO BUTCHER. The men brawled all over the place with Cash Flo definitely getting some competition. However, Cash pulled out the victory following another Oh Shit Legdrop.

4. "Classic" COLT CABANA (w/ DP & CM Punk) and SUICIDE KID went to an impressive 20 minute draw. They asked for and received an additional 5 minutes to try to find a winner. They kept getting near falls and then both wrestlers went for a flying crossbody but referee Brent Blades was in between them. The three of them sandwiched together with Brent and Cabana rolling to the floor. Kid was left in the ring and Cash Flo came out and delivered an Oh Shit Legdrop on the prone Kid. Cabana returned to the ring and hit the Merosault for the pinfall victory with 5 seconds left in the match. Cabana and Suicide agreed to another match down the line to settle who is the best between them.

5. "RUGBY THUG" TRENT BAKER defeated MEAN MITCH PAGE to win the IWA Mid-South Heavyweight championship. Baker was led to the ring by James Fannin who announced that Thug was the newest superhero due to the defeats Thug holds over Corporal Robinson. Thug announced that after winning the match he would be from being a national hero to a superhero. Mitch came out with a big sack of nuts and proceeded to tell everyone that he said on this message board he was going to hit Thug with his fat sack of nuts. The match saw both men trying to cheat and referee Jon stopping them as he tried to call the match fair after the beating he took from Ian Rotten on Wednesday night. Mitch blocked a tornado ddt attempt and turned it into an atomic drop. He then followed with a Rock Bottom. Fannin got on the apron and grabbed ahold of Jon not letting him make a count. Mitch picked up Thug and called for Necro Butcher to come out. Necro came out and got the rugby ball but Thug moved and Mitch was hit instead. Necro left and the ref turned around to make the three count crowning the new champion.

6. CM PUNK & MARK WOLF (w/ DP & Summer) def. BJ WHITMER & CHRIS HERO (w/ Jim Fannin). Hero started by challenging any fan to get in the ring and get the whipping of their lives. After no one accepted, it was declared that either Punk or Wolf would take the whippin instead. The match itself went from a scientific tag into a brawl and then back into a scientific tag with nearly 30 minutes of action. Summer hit a rana onto BJ Whitmer and Dave Prazak hit a crossbody block from the top rope onto Whitmer. Fannin attacked Prazak from behind leading Mark Wolf to chase after him. BJ Whitmer stopped Mark from catching him and started to attack him on the floor. Punk hit Hero with the top rope pedigree (Pepsi Plunge) during this for the pinfall. Whitmer entered the ring and attacked Punk after the match. They then duct taped Mark Wolf to the ropes and Fannin proceeded to strap him four times across the back with the leather strap. Summer tried to make a save for Mark but she too ended up duct taped to the ropes. Before she could be strapped, several wrestlers emerged from the back to run off the Super Heroes. Several mini brawls broke out between the Heroes and the rest of the crew before Whitmer/Hero/Fannin decided to leave.

Directions to the IWA House Of Hardcore From Louisville: Take I-65 North to exit 6A. From there you will take exit 10B. This leads you into Charlestown, Indiana. Follow that road for about 7 miles (stay in the right lane because it will split with Indiana-3). Past the split, you will come across a gravel road next to a sign for IWA Wrestling. Take a right on that gravel road and the IWA House of Hardcore will be on your left side. If coming from the North: Take I-65 South to exit 6A. Then follow the directions above.
