MidWest Championship Wrestling (MWCW)
5/12 Oskaloosa, Iowa
In front of about 100 people, MidWest Championship Wrestling debuted in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
The show opened with Mortimer Plumtree and T.S. Aggressor coming to the ring. They announced that Aggressor's opening-round opponent in the heavyweight title tournament couldn't make it and Aggressor would be getting a bye. However, Plumtree said he found a suitable replacement in Sheik Derek Stone. Plumtree then ran down the Iowans in the crowd. The Stone cut down the country as a USA chant started. Wrestler Brian Ash, who was sitting in the crowd, took offense to their antics and entered the ring. Plumtree lit him up orally until Ash decided to go after Stone and Aggressor. He ended up wrestling Stone.
Match one: Sheik Derek Stone (h) pinned Brian Ash.
Finish came when Stone rolled Ash up for the victory. After the match, Aggressor came out and they put the boots to Ash.
Match two: Brent Fillmore pinned Gage Octane (h) with Vixon.
I've seen these two guys work as the Prep Boyz in All American Wrestling, but they were able to show much more against each other with this gimmick. They worked a fast-paced match with good, action spots. Octane didn't work a lot of traditional heel-type stuff. It was more like a Japanese juniors style. About three minutes in, Vixon caught Fillmore with a spinning head scissors and a tornado DDT. Finish came during a series of reversals when Fillmore caught Octane with a stunner and pinned him. After the match, Octane and Vixon ended up beating on Fillmore. Octane hit him in the head with a chair.
Match three: Mitch Paradise pinned AWOL (h) with Plumtree.
This was a pretty good big man match with both men throwing each other around with power moves. After Paradise gave AWOL a fallaway slam, but Plumtree distracted debuting referee Timmy Kennedy, who had the world's slowest count in this match until the finish. A little bit later, Plumtree was on the ring apron holding Paradise for AWOL, but the big former military officer ended up hitting his manager. In the meantime, Paradise climbed to the top rope and hit AWOL with a Kane-like flying clothesline and scored the pin.
Match four: Playboy Pete Huge went to a draw with Kamikaze.
Early on, they exchanged sequences ending in spinning heel kicks. About 1:30 into the match, Pete threw Kamikaze outside and then hit a top rope, ax handle smash to the floor on him. The brawled to the back of the arena into the metal overhead door to the kitchen. They came back into the ring at the 4-minute mark and traded shots with Pete hitting a huge DDT and taking control of the match. Pete got a two count after an X-factor at about 6 minutes. At about the 7-minute mark, Kamikaze gave Pete a huricanrana as Pete was on the top turnbuckle. The ring announcer called the one-minute mark so both men tried to score pin after pin, but to no avail. The draw eliminated both men from the title tournament. Entertaining, but a bit too short.
Before intermission, it was announced that Fillmore was too injured to continue in the tournament. That meant Aggressor and Paradise would wrestle for the title later on.
Match 5: Cory Hard Core (h) pinned Thrillcat
Thrillcat went around the acted as if he was urinating on all the ring posts and really got the crowd behind him. He took it to Hard Core early but then Hard Core rebounded and hit a tombstone piledriver for the pin.
Match 6: Bobtown Brawler & Rampage Ruska beat Big Dog Barber & Havyk with a valet whose name I don't remember.
These guys worked hard and provided good action. It was hard to tell the heels from the faces in this match and the crowd really didn't always know who to cheer for. Finish came when the valet hit Havyk with a kendo stick. Then one of the faces gave him a brutal-looking chokeslam. Then the other face put him in the sharpshooter and got the submission. After the match, Barber turned on Havyk.
Match 7: Griz pinned Horace the Psychopath in the No DQ match.
This was a real good brawl around the arena. Horace was suplexed on the ring trailer. They hit each other with everything that wasn't bolted down. Horace has these things mastered.
Match 8: T.S. Aggressor with Plumtree pinned Mitch Paradise to win the title.
Paradise took it to Aggressor early and leveled Plumtree. AWOL jumped in as the referee looked as Plumtree and they doubleteamed Mitch. Aggressor gave Paradise a fisherman's suplex in the rally. This match was much faster paced than Paradise's early match and a different style. Late, Paradise hit a nice butterfly suplex, powerslam and chokeslam, but AWOL jumped in. Paradise was set to give AWOL the chokeslam when Aggressor hit him with a Twist of Fate and scored the pin to become the first Mid West Championship Wrestling title holder. Then they beat on Paradise until Horace made the save.
Overall: A good first card for the group. Griz vs. Horace was the match of the night, with the main as second.

--BRENT BLADES DEFEATS CHRIS HERO!!
--BJ & IAN WRESTLE TO A DOUBLE PIN!!
--MITCH RETAINS TITLE AGAINST MARK WOLF!!
This past Wednesday night, 5/16, IWA Mid-South Hardcore Wrestling presented another card at the IWA House of Hardcore in Charlestown, IN. Here are your results...
1. CASH FLO defeated SUICIDE KID. Cash Flo worked over Suicide injured shoulder most of the match and eventually clamped on the Fujiwara armbar to cause Kid to tap out. Cash refused to release the hold and Mark Wolf and Corporal Robinson came out to run off Cash Flo.
2. BRENT BLADES pulled off the huge upset by defeating CHRIS HERO with alot of help from Mark Wolf. Brent was bleeding horribly again and basically getting thrown around the ring at will by Hero. He got in a few moments of glory hitting a springboard crossbody to the floor and hitting Hero with a punch and a kick to the groin. Hero accidentally hit referee Jon on the backswing of a punch causing the ref to be out of commission for a moment. This left Mark Wolf the opportunity to come out and hit the slop drop and pull Brent over ontop of Hero and hooked his leg for Brent. Jon crawled over to make the three count.
3. "Mean" MITCH PAGE def. MARK WOLF to retain the IWA Mid-South Heavyweight championship. Mark hit the slop drop and got the 1,2,3 to apparently win the title. Mitch however put his foot on the bottom rope after the 3 count and Jon ruled that the matchup continue. While Mark was arguing the call, Mitch rolled him up from behind for the pin.
4. BJ WHITMER and IAN ROTTEN went to a double pin. Ian continually abused Jon throughout the match hitting him with European Uppercuts and chairshots to the back to keep him out of the matchup. Both men were bleeding like crazy after brawling all over the building. The end came on a german suplex by Ian but both men's shoulders were down on the mat resulting in the double pin.
5. CORPORAL ROBINSON def. NECRO BUTCHER in the Taipei Death Match with a Boot Camp onto a pile of chairs. Ultra bloody matchup that saw Necro hit Corp with 8 straight chairshots to the back.
IWA Mid-South Hardcore Wrestling returns to the IWA House of Hardcore (1304 Highway 62) in Charlestown, IN this Saturday night, May 19th. Tickets will be available at the door, and can be reserved in advance by calling the IWA hotline at (502) 569-1701.
Three matches have been announced thus far for this Saturday's show...
*****Heavyweight Title Match*****
[IWA Heavyweight Champion] "Mean" MITCH PAGE --VS.-- "Rugby Thug" TRENT BAKER
*****Rematch From May 12th*****
"Classic" COLT CABANA --VS.-- SUICIDE KID
*****Tag Team Attraction*****
CM PUNK & MARK WOLF --VS.-- BJ WHITMER & CHRIS HERO
Plus much more, all to take place this Saturday night! Make your plans now!
