I found two websites over the weekend that I thought I should mention here.
Who's Who in Midwest Wrestling. This is an A to Z list of the wrestlers in the Upper Midwest. Mid American Wrestling Article. This article is about Mid American Wrestling, and it focuses on The Reverend Axl Future and "The Hustler" Carmine DeSpirito, the promoter for MAW.

IWA MID-SOUTH NEWS FOR 5/14/01

--IAN, SUICIDE KID, JAMIE DUNDEE, SABU MAKE SURPRISE RETURNS TO IWA!!
--BJ WHITMER DEFEATS RECKLESS WITH HELP OF JIM FANNIN!!
--MMP'S VICTORIOUS IN MAIN EVENT!!
"No Blood, No Guts, No Glory 2001" is in the history books, and went down as one of the most memorable and action packed nights in IWA history this past Saturday night, 5/12, in Charlestown, IN. If you weren't there live, you missed a great one...
1. PAUL E. SMOOTH defeated RICHARD X in the opener with a modified pedigree.
2. CHRIS HERO (w/ Breeze) defeated MARK WOLF (w/ Summer) in a Finishers Match. BJ WHITMER interfered to eliminate Summer from ringside with a powerbomb and helps Hero win. Hero then attacked referee BRENT BLADES after the match and him and Hero leave Brent bleeding buckets in the ring.
3. CASH FLO returned from his 30 days off to defeat CM PUNK (w/ Dave Prazak).
4. JAMIE DUNDEE (mystery opponent) defeated CHIP FAIRWAY. Chip announced before the match that Tracy Smothers called him when Tracy realized that he was not going to be there due to the Mark Curtis Memorial Show.
5. BJ WHITMER defeated RECKLESS YOUTH (w/ Dave Prazak).
JIM FANNIN attacked DP and took the Gold Bond Powder and threw it in the eyes of Reckless as he was going for the frog splash. BJ then hit a frog splash of his own for the pin. Fannin then got out some duct tape and Reckless was taped to the ropes. This brought PATTI to the ring and she too was duct taped to the ropes. Just as Fannin was ready to strap her, "The Beautiful People" started playing over the sound system. AXL ROTTEN came out of the dressing room, and then it was IAN ROTTEN making his return through the back door, and he freed Patti from the ropes. Ian drilled BJ with a vicious chairshot while Hero was out on the floor. Fannin turned around and saw Ian with the chair and headed for the hills himself. Ian and Axl then went on to add themselves into the main event tag to make it a three way dance.
6. SABU defeated HIDO (Japanese star from FMW) with a triple jump moonsault after putting him through a table out on the floor. This matchup was Ian's gift to the fans as his comeback surprise.
7. SUICIDE KID (making his return from injury) defeated COLT CABANA (w/ Dave Prazak & CM Punk) in 19:52 in a fantastic wrestling match. Time limit was about to expire as he hit the Suicide Solution for the win. CASH FLO hit the ring after the match and he and Kid had to be pulled apart. Suicide challenged Cash for Wednesday night and Colt challenged Kid for next Saturday. Both matches were accepted.
8. ROLLIN HARD defeated NECRO BUTCHER & 2 TUFF TONY in a fans bring the weapons three way dance. Brutal stuff that went all over the building. They went through a glass shower door wrapped in barbed wire and the finish saw a lighttube chair placed on Necro and Tony went to the top to try a corkscrew. Rollin cut him off and hit a DVD through the lighttube chair on top of Necro to get the pin.
9. MAD MAN PONDO & "Mean" MITCH PAGE defeated CORPORAL ROBINSON & BLAZE and IAN & AXL ROTTEN in the barbed wire tables, ladders, chairs with lighttubes taped to the ropes match. Mitch kicked Ian off the ladder as they were climbing up the balcony. Ian fell backward off the ladder through a bw table on the floor. This brought out Fannin, BJ and Hero as they attacked Ian as he was tangled in the barb wire. Axl came over to try to save him but they just beat him down 3-1 as well. This basically made the match go to the original two team matchup. It came down to a double pin with Blaze pinning Pondo and Mitch pinning Corporal. Referee Jon pulled Pondo's shoulder up off the mat at the two count and continued to count out Corporal to give the win to Pondo and Mitch.
All in all, "No Blood, No Guts, No Glory 2001" was an incredible show. If you weren't there in person, it is highly recommended as an ideal IWA videotape to get your hands on.
