Next up is news from The Mid American Wrestling Hardcore Cup Tournament. Hardcore Craig, Big Flame, and Harley Lewis were scheduled to appear, but they weren't there. Instead, The Skull Krusher, Mark Wolf, Dysfunction and The Necro Butcher particpated in the Tournament instead.
Once again The Blessed Reverend Axl Future is not scheduled to appear on the next MAW show. I hope he's back in MAW soon.

--IAN DEFEATS CORP IN FINALS TO WIN HARDCORE CUP 2001!
--ROTTEN TO CHALLENGE CRAIG FOR BELT ON 5/18 - FANS PICK STIPS!
MAW Hardcore Cup 2001 is history, folks... and the winner of the 16 man two night tournament was Ian Rotten!
The closing rounds of the tournament took place this past Saturday night, 4/21, at the Knights of Columbus in West Allis, WI. The results are as follows...
1. MAD MAN PONDO defeated "Mean" MITCH PAGE in a Barbed Wire Boards & Live Fluorescent Lightbulb Match with a DDT through two stacked boards/bulbs.
2. CORPORAL ROBINSON defeated DINO BAMBINO in a Barbed Wire Tables Match when Dino was slammed off the top to the floor through two of the barbed wire tables.
3. IAN ROTTEN defeated "Sick" NICK MONDO in a Barbed Wire Baseball Bat Match with a German suplex onto the bat.
4. LEATHERFACE defeated 2 TUFF TONY in a Caribbean Spiderweb of Barbed Wire Match with a powerbomb into the spiderweb.
5. IAN ROTTEN pinned LEATHERFACE with a double underhook DDT.
6. CORPORAL ROBINSON pinned MAD MAN PONDO after powerbombing him barebacked into the broken glass in a Taipei Death Match.
7. IAN ROTTEN pinned CORPORAL ROBINSON in the finals of the tournament to become the winner of Hardcore Cup 2001 after throwing Corp off the top through the Log Cabin of Glass.
Once again, as reported in the last newsletter, the results from night one of the Cup (4/20) were...

Mid American Wrestling returns to the Knights of Columbus (1800 S. 92nd Street) in West Allis, WI on Saturday, May 18th. Bell time is 7:30pm. Tickets are $15 reserved ringside and $12 general admission and can be purchased in advance at Knights or at the door on the night of the event.

First off, Chris Candido has been added to the big NWA Florida show being held on April 24th in Tampa at the Ft. Homer Hesterly Armory. He'll be competing against Buck Q. for the promotion's "Florida Title."
So, if you live in that area, stop by and catch the Can-Man in action!
Secondly, some websites have been advertising Chris and Tammy for the USA Pro Wrestling show originally scheduled this Sunday (April 22nd) at Sportsfest in Staten Island, NY. Unfortunately, this show has been cancelled, but don't fret, as we're sure that the duo will be working in the New York area again sometime in the near future.
Finally, New Japan Pro Wrestling has officially announced that Chris Candido will be a participant in it's annual Super Juniors Tournament. The contest will begin on April 16th and conclude on May 6th, with the finals being held at the Osaka Furitsu Gym. Other notable talents performing during this tour include Jushin "Thunder" Liger, Minoru Tanaka, AKIRA, Silver King, Dr. Wagner Jr., Shinya Makabe, Shocker, Wataru Inoue, and El Samurai.
