Indyvelopments- March 29, 2001
- Tony D @ 7:48 pm EST

In today's edition of Indyvelopments, I have news and match results for Mid-American Wrestling, World Class Championship Wrestling, North American Wrestling Federation, two back-to-back All-Star Championship Wrestling shows, All-American Wrestling and Powerslam Productions. The Skull Krusher, Farmer Vic, Sherri Martel, Adrian Steel (the subject of my latest interview), Yukon Eric, Jr., Jake "The Milkman" Milliman, Tough Tom (1/2 of Disorderly Conduct in WCW), "Tasty" Travis Lee, Tony DeNucci, Kevin Krueger, Trailer Trash Tim and Tom "Rocky" Stone among many others all get mentioned.

First up is news and match results from Mid American Wrestling. Check them out on the Internet at www.midamericanwrestling.com. Subscribe to the MAW Newsletter by sending a blank e-mail to midamerican-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. Before I get into the MAW news though, I had a couple of comments that I wanted to make.

Once again, The Blessed Reverend Axl Future was not on the card. What is even stranger to me is that Farmer Vic was. I don't know if you're supposed to know this (but Axl mentioned it in an interview that he did with someone else) that his tag team partner, Arc Angel Vincent, used to be Farmer Vic. They were the tag team of Saint 'N Sinner. I don't know why Axl isn't in MAW right now, but I'm hoping he's back in time for The Hardcore Cup Tournament. Since Axl recently got his head shaved at the hands of Chango Loco, I thought that Axl might end up as Dave Prazak's Mystery Man since he has a new look and Axl hadn't been in MAW on the last card or two. Maybe Axl will take on Chango Loco in a MAW ring and maybe they can have a "Blood 'N Roses" match like the one that Axl was in at Summer Sizzler 1999 (Throw your opponent into a bed of thorned roses to win the match).

I also think that it's really great that The Skull Krusher is back! He was signed to a developmental deal in The WWF in 1999, but he was injured in a car wreck early in 2000 and around that same time, The WWF let him go (I don't know which came first). I read on the Internet last year that it was unknown if The Skull Krusher could make a comeback, but he will be wrestling on the next MAW show. I'm really glad to hear that.

What with Farmer Vic back and The Skull Krusher back as well, let's see The Spymaster or Colonel Blatnick at a future MAW show. Where is (Charming Chad) C.C. Love and "Red Hot" Billy Wild, The Nation of Penetration, anyway? I got out one of my MAW tapes last night and watched the "I Quit" match between Billy Joe Eaton and The Spymaster from Summer Sizzler '98. That was a great match. Onto the MAW news.

--CRAIG RETAINS TITLE AGAINST IAN!!
--PUNK TO BATTLE SERRANO HAIR VS. HAIR ON 4/7!!
--HARDCORE CUP LESS THAN A MONTH AWAY!!

Mid American Wrestling returned to the Knights of Columbus in West Allis, WI this past Saturday night, 3/24. Here are your results...

1. MATT LONGTIME (w/ DP) defeated "Classic" COLT CABANA (w/ The Skull Krusher) via pinfall in the opening contest. As Cabana climbed to the top rope for a moonsault, Prazak climbed up on the apron and threw powder in Cabana's eyes. Longtime then nailed Colt with a superkick and got the three count.

2. FARMER VIC pinned "Dysfunction" KURT KRUEGER following a Samoan drop from the 2nd rope. While walking back to the locker room, Krueger was attacked by DEREK ST. HOLMES, ESQ. and GEORGE W. GABLE.

3. DEREK ST. HOLMES, ESQ. & GEORGE W. GABLE (w/ Quentin) lost to "The Double D's" JASON DUKES & FRANKIE DeFALCO via disqualification when Derek clocked referee ART MENDEZ. KURT KRUEGER then came out and hit a senton on Derek from the top rope.

4. CORPORAL ROBINSON defeated DP's mystery wrestler "Sick" NICK MONDO when Corporal DDT'd Mondo on the tile floor and Mondo could not continue. Post-match, Robinson told Mondo he earned his respect during that match. Prazak then reminded Robinson that he wasn't able to pin Mondo during the bout, and Corp responded by tossing DP into the ring and hitting him with the Boot Camp (cobra clutch/Russian legsweep).

"Sensational" SHERRI MARTEL made a surprise appearance, and did an in-ring interview during intermission, during which Sherri apologized to the MAW fans for not being able to appear on the February 3rd event.

5. "Britney Spears' Boyfriend" CHUCKIE SMOOTH defeated "Who's Your" DANNY DOMINION with a sunset flip. Dominion continued to attack Smooth after the bell, until THE SKULL KRUSHER came to Chuckie's aid. Dominion and Skull Krusher exchanged words, and a challenge was made. Despite doctor's orders, Skull Krusher will return to the ring to face Danny at Knights on 4/7.

6. In a wrestler vs. shoot fighter contest, CM PUNK (w/ DP) defeated ADRIAN SERRANO (w/ Fate) via DQ in a controversial decision. Though Serrano got much of the offense, he was not able to make Punk tap out. Punk got busted open on the forehead delivering headbutts to Serrano during the bout. As Serrano had the upper hand, Prazak climbed onto the apron to distract referee SCOTT DeMARC, only to be shoved down to the floor for his trouble. FATE then came over to Prazak, delivered a kick to the lower extremities, and slapped him across the face. Punk proceeded to deliver a low blow of his own to Serrano, and grabbed Fate by the hair, pulling her into the ring. Prazak then handed Punk a pair of scissors, instructing him to cut her hair off, but was run out of the ring by Serrano before he could actually do it. DeMarc, seeing Fate in the ring, called for the bell, disqualified Serrano, and announced Punk as the winner. Serrano got on the mic after the match and challenged Punk to a hair vs. hair match for 4/7.

7. In the main event Fans Bring The Weapons match, MAW Heavyweight Champion HARDCORE CRAIG defeated IAN ROTTEN after Rotten was whipped into a large wooden structure of over 30 fluorescent lightbulb tubes. The two will have a Fans Bring The Weapons rematch, this time with Last Man Standing stipulations added, on the 4/7 Knights event.

North American Wrestling Federation
3/23 Jefferson, WI
Jefferson County Fairgrounds, 8 p.m.
Referee: James Kennedy
Jake the Milkman Milliman over Matt Longtime with a small package reversal from a suplex.

Rockin Randy with Eric Freedom over Buzzsaw Brad Hunter. Just enough interference allowed Randy to land the top rope leg drop.

Freedom tries to force the commissioner's hand by threatening to strip his clothes if he isn't granted a title shot against Tough Tom by his deadline.

Luca Bratsi with Tommy Rox over Alan Action Jackson after Rox shook the ropes and interrupted Jackson coming off the top. Jackson chased Rox around the ring and upon getting back in got chokeslammed by Bratsi.

Freedom had not received the news he wanted by the time he wanted so he lived up to his words. Freedom stripped, not a stand in, not a body double, the Electric Eric Freedom stripped all the way down to his soiled grey shorts and rock and roll T-shirt before Commissioner Yamamoto put an end to the show. Funny thing was, while Eric was stripping, he was throwing his socks away from the direction he was looking and never saw who he hit. Well, one greasy, slimy sock, nailed Rough Ryder Rashaan's mom right in the face, yuck. Anyway, Yamamoto did not grant Eric his match, so Freedom beat him up until Tough Tom made the save and granted the match for him.

Rough Ryder Rashaan and Brandon Blaze over Derrick St. Holmes Esquire and Mason Diggs w/ Manservant Quentin. A lot of back and forth action and enough interference from Quentin to keep things in the bad boys' favor but quick thinking on behalf of Rashaan and Blaze got them a win with double roll up covers.

5. Major Steven Payne with Private Area over Big Joe After Area rang the bell as a distraction, it gave the room needed for Payne to slip a foreign object onto his knuckles to use to punch Joe in the head for the win.

Steel Phoenix over Caesar the Gladiator. A neckbreaker near the ropes by Caesar and while covering, Phoenix got his foot on the rope. Unaware of it, Caesar got up on the turnbuckles to celebrate while Phoenix came up from behind and landed the torture rack neck breaker.

Tough Tom retained the NAWF Heavyweight title over Freedom. Surprisingly not a lot of interference from Randy on the outside. Very valiant effort on both behalves, in the end Randy attempted to stick his nose in but the plan backfired and Freedom paid the price with a rock bottom. After the match, Randy and Eric both double teamed the champ until the Milkman made the save and issued a tag challenge for April 20.

All-Star Championship Wrestling
3/23 Rockwood, WI
at the Big Apple
"Straight Edge" Eric Hammers defeated Red Lightning with a tornado DDT. ... Kujo defeated Ryan Rogue with the Mullet Kutter. ... "God's Gift to Women" Kevin Krueger defeated "Pimp Daddy" Rob Norwood. Norwood hit the Pimp Drop but Angelo Stefano, who had come out to watch the match from ringside, distracted the referee while Kujo sneaked out from the back and tossed Krueger his spiked dog collar. Krueger nailed Norwood with the object and got the pin. Afterwards, Krueger grabbed Kendra (who was managing Norwood) and dropped her with the Ladykiller. Hillbilly Hills ran out with a chair to clear the ring and save his friends. ... Kamikaze Ken (ACW TV Champion) defeated "Superstar" Mike Mercury with a Kenton Bomb. Although Angelo Stefano ran out and hit Ken with his own Television Championship belt, Ken still managed to bounce back and get the win; however, Stefano ran off with the TV strap, claiming it as his own. ... Big Daddy Loker won over Sam Hayne by disqualification when Hayne spewed the green mist in Loker's face. ... Hillbilly Hills (ACW Heavyweight Champion) won over "Tasty" Travis Lee by disqualification when Stefano (again!) ran out and pulled the referee out of the ring just as he was about to count 3 for a Hills victory, and Kevin Krueger and Kujo stormed the ring and put the boots to Hills. Norwood returned the favor and came out to Hills' defense. Hillbilly Hills then challenged Krueger and Kujo to a tag team match with himself and Norwood for the next evening. Kamikaze Ken ran out to demand a match with Angelo Stefano to get his stolen belt back. Stefano fainted and had to be carried out by Krueger, Kujo and Lee, and interim Commissioner Matt Byron made the matches official, and added the stipulation that if ANYBODY accompanied Stefano to the ring or interfered (including Stefano's mom!) that they would be suspended from ACW for 60 days.

All-Star Championship Wrestling
3/24 Kiel, WI
Gravel Pit
The "San Antonio Smasher" and Busty Lhodes came out to begin a rather uneventful match, but were interrupted when Kamikaze Ken appeared and thrashed the pair of them, piled one on top of the other then Kenton Bombed and pinned them both. Ken then called out Angelo Stefano and demanded the match take place right away, but it was not to be. ... Ryan Rogue defeated Romeo Valentino with a double-arm DDT. ... Sam Hayne defeated Mason Diggs with a Satancanrana. ... Ruff Ryder Rashaan defeated Red Lightning with a moonsault. ... "Straight Edge" Eric Hammers defeated "Tasty" Travis Lee with a tornado DDT. ... Kamikaze Ken (true ACW TV Champion) defeated Angelo Stefano with a Kenton Bomb. Although Stefano attempted to bring Kujo, Kevin Krueger and Tommy Rox out with him, Matt Byron put a stop to that when he reminded Stefano's cronies that they'd be suspended for 60 days and thrown out of the building if they remained in the ring or at ringside. The group left, but halfway through the match Kujo ran in while the referee was distracted and dropped Ken on his head; but once again, Ken managed to pull through it and win the match. ... Hillbilly Hills (ACW Heavyweight Champion) & Ruff Ryder Rashaan defeated "God's Gift to Women" Kevin Krueger & Kujo when Norwood countered out of Kujo's Mullet Kutter and pulled off the Pimp Drop.

All American Wrestling
3/24 Eau Claire, WI
Eau Claire Civic Center, 7:30 p.m.
Match 1
Trailer Trash Tim with Sexy Stacy and Rain pinned Tank
We arrived a bit late as getting something to eat and drink in Eau Claire seemed to be a big problem for us. TTT pinned Tank in a loser wears a dress match so they put the dress on Tank after the match. He beat on TTT, who celebrated a bit too long for Tank's taste after the match.

Match 2
Mad Wolverine & Mike "The Bull" Gueke beat Ratt and Mad Dog Ganz
I believe this was the debut of the Michigan-based Ganz and his look fit into this promotion. Throughout the match, Wolverine had some nice-looking submission wrestling stuff. With the right guy, he could probably have a very good work/shoot submission match. Finish came when Wolverine caught Ratt in a submission lock.

Match 3
Switch won a three-way dance over J-Rock and Primetime
This was a three-way dance with three faces and didn't generate much heat. Switch pinned J-Rock after a modified Michinoku Driver.

Match 4
AAW heavyweight champion Tony DeNucci went to a double countout with Magnus Maximus
This was the best match I've seen these two have together. Early on, DeNucci delivered some brutal chops and Magnus reversed the situation and gave some back. The went to the floor and Maximus ended up getting his head thrown into a chair. However, when DeNucci was going to whip him into the crowd, Maximus reversed things and DeNucci took out a few rows of chairs as the fans moved. Then the back of DeNucci's trunks got pulled down for a big laugh. They kept going to a very strong match and DeNucci looked on his game. The finish came when they brawled at ringside as the referee counted them out. Both guys ended up taking a trash can to the head.

Match 5
Big Dog Dave Rose pinned The Natural
After introductions, Rose said he had an injured knee at the hands of the Fearsome Foursome and couldn't wrestle. The Natural had no sympathy and went after him. They used a ladder and garbage cans and did the knee injury throughout. After a referee bump, Ganz came out to watch. They pulled out a hollow core door and the Natural was going to superplex him through it. Rose turned things around and hit a blockbuster-type move that put both men through the door. Rose rolled over and pinned The Natural to retain the AAW Hardcore Title. After the match, the Natural beat up Ganz and Rose with a garbage can and lid. He hit Rose on the top of the head and opened a nasty gash.

Match 6
Horace the Psychopath with Weird Cookie pinned Hannibal
This match started out as a wild brawl and they ended tossing chairs and garbage cans at each other. They also broke a table. This was a very good match. Things slowed for a bit as they wrestled in the ring, but the crowd got behind Horace, chanting Psycho. Best match of the night as these guys turned it up in the main event.

Match 7
Prep Boy Timothy won the 13-man battle royal. One of the biggest highlights of the night was when Capital City Kyle called out for DeNucci to chop rookie Vennom. DeNucci ripped off Vennom's shirt and chopped the youngster, welcoming him to the business. The final four were DeNucci, Timothy and Horace. Maximus ran in and eliminated DeNucci, leaving Horace and the new Prep Boy, who tossed out the Psycho and won.

Overall: The crowd was about 400. The Eau Claire Civic Center is a good venue for wrestling and Mick Givens' crew was on had to film the event. They had a nice mix of brawling with wrestling in the ring this time. The DeNucci/Maximus and Horace/Hannibal matches were very entertaining.

Powerslam Productions
3/24 Waukesha, WI
at the Sunset Bowl, 7:30 p.m.
Valley of the Kings Benefit show
Refs: James Kennedy and Rich Enders ... In the opening match, Tom "Rocky" Stone, despite concealing a weapon in his trunks, was soundly defeated by Jake "The Milkman" Milliman. ... In the second match, Action Jackson, despite getting the crowd on his side, was left a quivering pile of pain in the ring as "Rockin’ Randy" emerged victorious. ... The next match was for the tag team titles, and the Southern Mississippi Militia was Victorious over Ice Walter and Brandon Blaze. ... In a semi final match Eric Freedom had a tough going against SGT. Medallion but pulled off a surprise victory. ... In the first of two Main Events for the Heavyweight Championship Trevor Adonis and Tough Tom fought to a no contest when the Militia interfered. At that time Trevor Adonis and Tough Tom took Polaroid pictures with fans. In the second main event Ice Walters won a 12 man Battle Royal. ... This event was a fundraiser for the Valley of the Kings Sanctuary for abused and abandon exotic animals (www.votk.org). This event raised $4,183 for Valley of the Kings.

Wrestle America 2000
3/24 Minneapolis, MN
at Grumpy's
1.) Shifty (face) pinned Sheriff Johnny Emerald (heel). Couldn't see much of this one because Mitch Paradise was standing in my way. (As if I would tell Mitch to move) This was all the usual stuff. The end came when Emerald missed a corner splash and Shifty rolled him up.

2.) Jake Ricker (heel) pinned Shawn Daivari (face). Daivari came out covered in Ben Gay or something because he was all shiny and had that ointment smell about him. Still couldn't see much. Jake did an interesting top rope arm bar move early, Daivari answered with a twist of fate and some kind of a pump handle salto. Jake got the pin by some method I didn't see. (Thanks Mitch) Ricker also got a pop from the crowd, despite his heel work.

3.) Black Stallion (face) pinned Playboy Pete Huge (heel). The place went nuts for BS as he came out. The ring work in this contest was real tight; not sloppy at all. Stallion attacked with a gorilla press and a drop kick to the back of his PPH's head. Pete came back doing the old eye rub on the rope bit, and followed up with a drop toe hold, and a full nelson drop. Later, Stallion tried for a suplex, but Huge converted that into a DDT. BS couldn't be denied though, battling back with a belly to belly, and winning after his over the shoulder, running power slam.

4.) Thor (?) pinned Austin Aries (?). Can't say for sure who the face and heel were for this one. To be honest, Thor spent the majority of this match lying on his back, staring up at the lights, waiting for AA to do something to him. The end came when Austin jumped off the top rope, and Thor caught him for a chokeslam, and a pin.

5.) Lacey (face) pinned Ashley Xavier (heel). Well, it had to happen, but I finally saw Lacey wear the same costume twice. Ashley opened things up with a body slam, and was going for another when Lacey countered and rolled her up for a two count. Xavier went on to hit some sort of a reverse face buster and Lacey rebounded with a Kenny Jay knee lift. There were loud calls from the spectators for a thigh lock. After connecting with a swinging neckbreaker, Xavier threw Lacey into the corner and went for a splash. Lacey moved, Ashley hit the corner, fell back, and Lacey rolled her up for the pin. This was the same finish as the first bout. These two have improved from their earlier efforts. The match had more of a rhythm and they made more noise hitting the mat.

6.) Big Daddy Hoofer (heel) defeated Helmut von Strauss (heel) by submission. This was definitely a heel vs. heel match. Hoofer opened things up with flapjack facebuster, continuing with a top rope elbow. Someone in the crowd produced a German flag which Hoofer used to wipe his butt. Helmut hit his head on one of the overhead lights during a springboard drop kick. Von Strauss got in two savate kicks and tried for a third when Big Daddy ducked and answered with stiff chops, a DDT, and then locked the bald German in some variety of an abdominal stretch for the submission win. This was a good match, both seemed to work stiff.

7.) Mitch Paradise & Morgan P.R. (faces) defeated Ian Xavier and The Hater (w/ Sheik Adnan al-Kassie, heels). Mitch called out Charlie Norris to be the referee. Early on The Hater took Mitch around the bar, slammed him into a wall, and dumped ketchup onto him. Soon after Mitch returned the favor, dragging Hater over the same terrain, slamming him into walls and tables, but spraying him with mustard instead. This really got the fans going. After that it was a regular pier six brawl. Paradise got in a fallaway slam on Xavier, and Morgan slammed both heels. The Sheik tried to interfere, but hit The Hater by accident, allowing Morgan the pin. A very enjoyable main event.

Pro Wrestling America
3/25 West St. Paul, MN
at the West St. Paul Armony, 4 p.m.
The PWA emerged to run its first show at the traditional venue of Steel Domain Wrestling (St. Paul Championship Wrestling) and drew about 240 people.

Match 1
Shawn Daivari beat Robbie Thunder and Jake Ricker in a three-way dance.
Thunder pinned Ricker after an elevated X-Factor. Daivari pinned Thunder to win the match. A collection of moves, but no story.

Match 2
Austin Aries went to a draw with the Black Stallion.
This match showcased Austin Aries' fine offense, with an occasional move or two by Stallion. Good action. They went to a draw at 15 minutes and then got 5 addition miutes, but the match still ended in a draw.

Match 3
Charlie Norris and TNT Tesdahl beat Cruel & Unusual (Big Daddy Hoofer & Ian Xavier)
C&U was accompanied to the ring by Ashley Xavier, while Norris and Tesdahl were accompanied by Destiny and Lacey. Finish came when Tesdahl press slammed Hoofer and pinned him. The biggest pop was when Lacey and Ashley almost squared off at ringside. After the match, the faces challenged Ashley to meet Lacey in the ring. The girls squared off in a catfight hair-pulling segment until the men broke things up.

Match 4
Shifty pinned Sheriff Johnny Emerald
Shifty defended his cruiserweight belt against the evil law enforcement officer. The crowd was solidly against the Sheriff in this one. Finish came when Shifty hit the block buster and pinned the Sheriff to retain the cruiserweight title.

Match 5
Big John Dodovich beat Mitch Paradise in a body slam challenge.
Dodovich is a bar owner who brought a majority of the crowd so he was real over. Not much action to this but the crowd was into it. Finish came when Paradise brawled with Dodovich's manager and Dodovich did the all-time worst looking body slam on Paradise's manager for the day, General Chang.

Match 6
Derrick Dukes pinned Matt Burns with Sheik Adnon Al Kaissey
This wasn't bad, but it was too short as it was only four minutes. They brawled a bit after the match and Dukes hit Burns with a chair.

Overall: Most of the matches had pretty good heat as the crowd was entertained by the card.
