Indyvelopments- Central State Championship Wrestling- Background Information and Quick Match Results
- Tony D @ 7:37 am EST

Central State Championship Wrestling is based out of Topeka, Kansas. They also have a wrestling school there. I don’t know how long they’ve been around.

They had a show on March 24, 2001 at The National Guard Armory at Pittsburg, Kansas. There were only 5 matches, but it was a solid show. I don’t know what titles they have, but I do know that The Platinum Kid is the first CSCW Cruiserweight Champion because he won the belt at the show on the 24th.

They had mostly up and coming guys on the show, according to the Promoter. I don’t if how often they used big name stars, but on April 3rd in Wichita Kansas they have a show at Rita’s Club. It starts at 9 PM and it features a Midget Match, and Doink The Clown and Mr. Wrestling III will both be on the card. I’ve seen them both in person twice, and they’re really good.

Smasher and Kryptonite were both excellent heels. Tiger Kid and Grenade were great faces, and there wasn’t a bad match on the card. Smasher had tall heat at the show, especially considering the small crowd that was there.

The Promoter made up the flyers, and the tickets were to be sold at Western Sizzlin’. The Promoter is from Topeka and there they have a restaurant called Western Sizzler. He put "Western Sizzler" on the flyer, and the people at Western Sizzlin’ got really mad and they refused to sell the tickets. I saw a flyer at Kitchen Pass and at Ron’s IGA, but I don’t where else the flyers were. I didn’t hear anything about the show on the radio either, but a friend of mine heard something about it on the radio on Friday. I listened for a few hours on Saturday Afternoon and didn’t hear a thing.

I don’t know if or when CSCW will come back to town. The show they put on was really good and it’s too bad that more people didn’t show up. If they come back, hopefully the turnout will be alot better.

Grenade wrestles in Oklahoma Pro Wrestling and he is part of a group called The Casualties of War. "Hott Property" Danny Dane was at the show, but he didn’t wrestle. He has wrestled in Bad Boys of Wrestling, which is based in Texas.

I don’t have my film developed yet, but I did take pictures at the show. I will make a gallery of the photos and have them on my website soon, hopefully before March 31, 2001. I will also get the flyer scanned so you can see the autographs I got there, and that will be accessible on my Autographs Page on my website. The Official Website of Tony D.

Match #1: Scott Stewart vs. Tim "The Maniac" Mechanic vs. The Platinum Kid in a three way dance and the winner becomes the CSWF Cruiserweight Champ, and The Platinum Kid won with a 450 Splash on Mechanic for the win. Platinum Kid was presented a gold belt with red leather trim.

Match #2: Psycho Smasher won by DQ against a guy whose name I didn't catch. The guy was announced as being 6' 8" and 280. When the ring announcer said that, Smasher said "He's lying" Smasher whipped out brass knuckles and the Face used them on Smasher. The Ref found the face with them and he got disqualified.

Match #3: Kryptonite came out in a blue and silver superhero suit with a letter S on it and he wrestled a masked man named Grenade. Grenade won with an inside cradle. Kryptonite kept calling the Ring Announcer "Jimmy" and all of us fans were "reporters". He was reminiscent of Kurt Angle on the mic.

Match #4 was a hardcore 3 Way Streetfight with No DQ. Storm vs. Rage vs. a heel whose name I didn't get. Storm put Rage in the corner standing up with a chair covering his head. Storm went for a shoulderblock and Rage moved and Storm hit the chair and Rage went for the pin and won.

Match #5: Doug "The Thug" Masters wrestled The Tiger Kid. Tiger Kid won with a small package. Tiger Kid wore a "Tiger Mask" Mask and was from Osaka Japan.

Kryptonite and Smasher were great heels and Tiger Kid was a great face. Smasher had tall heat considering there were only 22 F'N PEOPLE at the show!
