Indyvelopments- Steel Domain, MAW, IWA Mid-South, ECCW and more
- Tony D @ 10:44 pm EST

Welcome to another edition of Indyvelopments. Today I've got Match Results from the Steel Domain Wresting card from February 24th (featuring Lenny Lane and the subject of my most recent interview, "Tasty" Travis Lee). I've also got dates for several upcoming shows in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa, courtesy of Tim Larson and his Upper Midwest Wrestling Newsletter.

I've also got the match results from The Mid-American Wrestling show from March 4 and the card for the March 24 show. I've got the results from the IWA Mid-South Show that featured The Sandman vs. Mad Man Pondo in the main event and Simon Diamond in a three way dance with The American Kickboxer and Chris Hero. The Gold Bond Mafia was at the show, so you should probably Bond up now!

Also I have a list of upcoming Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling shows, "The King of Old School" Steve Corino is coming to ECCW.

The following is from The Upper Midwest Wrestling Newsletter. To subscribe, e-mail Tim Larson at Larsontl1@aol.com and tell him that you want to subscribe to The Upper Midwest Wrestling Newsletter. Tim has an interview in every issue, I don't know how he does it! Getting interviews is difficult sometimes.

From The Upper Midwest Wrestling Newsletter
Steel Domain Wrestling
2/24 West St. Paul, MN
at the West St. Paul Armory
Eric Priest pinned Black Dagger ... Butch McLain pinned "Super Brat" Brad Bradley ... Colt Cabana and CM Punk beat Danny Dominion and Ace Steel with Adara James and Mortimer Plumtree ... Chuckie Smooth went to a no contest with Lenn Walker when Chi-Town Thug ran in and brawled with Walker ... Flexappeal (Tony DeNucci & Travis Lee with Eric Priest) beat Black Dagger & Rikki Noga ... Magnus Maximus pinned Eric Priest ... Lenny Lane pinned Scotty Zappa (with the Patriarch a/k/a Mortimer Plumtree in the Patriot mask) ... CM Punk pinned Chuckie Smooth ... Ace Steel pinned PT Lumpkin ... Lenn Walker went to a double countout with Chi-Town Thug ... Colt Cabana beat Danny Dominion & Adara James in a handicap match when Dominion pinned Cabana. Comments: Plumtree was strong in an opening promo for the first show. Priest looked particularly good in his two matches as both were strong. Magnus Maximus has turned up the tempo of his matches of late. The Dominion/Steel vs. Cabana/Punk match started with 10-12 slow minutes, but the final 15 were about as good as any you will see. Lenny Lane's promo to open show number two was pretty funny for long--time fans as he ran down all the gimmicks Scotty Zappa had. There was more humor to this SDW show than usual, which was a nice addition. Overall, This stuff should make for good television and it was a much-improved live show compared to last time. Crowd was about 250 on a bad weather night in Minnesota.

--CRAIG RETAINS TITLE AGAINST IAN & CORP!!
--PUNK ATTACKS SERRANO WITH TOP ROPE PEDIGREE!!
--MAW TO RETURN TO KNIGHTS ON 3/24!!

Mid American Wrestling returned to The Brat Stop in Kenosha, WI this past Sunday afternoon, March 4th for the "Blood & Ice Bash." Here are your results...

1. "Classic" COLT CABANA (w/ Skull Krusher) defeated DANNY DOMINION with a moonsault.

2. "Double D" JASON DUKES & FRANKIE DeFALCO (w/ Dee Dee) retained the MAW Tag Team Titles against DEREK ST. HOLMES, ESQ. & MANSERVANT QUENTIN when Frankie hiptossed Quentin off the top rope and Dukes followed up with a moonsault for the pin.

3. "Sexy" ACE STEEL pinned "Fabulous" JOE FUROR following a tornado DDT.

4. CM PUNK (w/ Dave Prazak) defeated DINO BAMBINO. Dino went to give Punk a belly to back suplex off the
top rope, and Punk nailed Bambino with a chain on the way down, as DP distracted referee BARFLY MIKE. Prazak held Bambino's leg down as Punk then covered and pinned him. Following the match, Dino put Punk through a table on the floor with a legdrop off the top rope.

5. "Love Machine" MATT LONGTIME defeated "Dysfunction" KURT KRUEGER with his modified DDT after Krueger missed a 450 splash.

6. ADRIAN SERRANO made GEORGE W. GABLE tap out to an armbar submission. Serrano was then attacked by CM Punk, who hit him with a pedigree off the top rope, and ran out the front door of the Brat Stop. Serrano challenged Punk to a shoot fighting match at the next card, 3/24 in West Allis at the Knights of Columbus.

7. In a Triangle of Pain Match (Bed of Nails, Broken Glass, and a Barbed Wire Baseball Bat), HARDCORE CRAIG retained the MAW Heavyweight Title against both IAN ROTTEN and CORPORAL ROBINSON. During the course of the match, Craig put Ian down face first on the bed of nails and then stood on his back, Corporal sliced Ian's forehead open with a piece of glass, and Ian busted nine fluorescent lightbulb tubes over Robinson's head! Ian gave Corp a splash mountain into 20 lightbulb tubes laid across two chairs, and went for the cover, only for Craig to nail Ian with a chair to break up the pin attempt. Craig then gave Corp an elbow off the top rope with the chair, and pinned Robinson to win the match. Afterwards, Ian challenged Craig to a Heavyweight Title match with Fans Bring the Weapons stipulations for 3/24 at Knights.

The next event for MAW will take place on Saturday night, March 24th at the Knights of Columbus (1800 S. 92nd Street) in West Allis, WI. Bell time is 7:30pm. Tickets are available in advance at Knights or at the door on the night of the show.

MAW @ DAN CURTIS MEMORIAL SHOW

I know that The Reverend Axl Future was scheduled to be on the March 4th MAW show, but I don't know what he wasn't there. I was going to e-mail him this week anyway. Hi Rev!

Here is the results from The IWA Mid-South Show from March 3rd. I've read ALOT of good things about Ace Steel and Danny Dominion. The Gold Bond Mafia rule! Check them out at www.goldbondmafia.com. The main event saw Mad Man Pondo vs. The Sandman! Yes, Pondo (who was once on The Jerry Springer Show) had his stop sign with him.

IWA Mid-South Hardcore Wrestling Presented:
"Nightmare on Highway 62"
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

The opening bout saw The Gold Bond Mafia defeat HollyWood Hardbodies as "Classic" Colt Cabana and CM
Punk (w/ Dave Prazak) took on "Sexy" Ace Steel and the IWA Debut of Danny Dominion. This was a very sound technical match that is DEFINITELY one for the books. Overall GREAT match!

The next bout was a lumberjack match seeing Todd Morton (w/ lumberjacks Chris Hero, Tracy Smothers, B.J. Whitmer and "Rugby Thug" Trent Baker) defeat Harry "The Babe Magnet" Palmer (w/ lumberjacks Suicide Kid, Mark Wolf, Cash Flo and Uncle Honkey) after Morton hit Palmer in the face with powder, took the chain that Palmer had in his hand and leveled him with it.

In the next match, the American KickBoxer (w/ Uncle Honkey) defeated Chris Hero (w/ Breeze) & debuting ECW Star Simon Diamond (w/ Dawn Marie) after Kickboxer hit his Tumbleweed Legdrop onto Hero for the pin. This was an EXCELLENT technical match that saw not only a gorilla press of Referee Brent Blades over the top onto Hero, Diamond and Kickboxer by Uncle Honkey, but also the ever famous CATFIGHT between Dawn Marie and Breeze. AND BY GOD.. I NOW KNOW WHAT THE BIG DEAL IS ABOUT DAWN MARIE... WOW!

"Mean" Mitch Page defeated Spike Dudley after an ALL OUT BRAWL that went all over the Creator's House of Hardcore! Highlights of the match were seeing Little Spike being thrown THROUGH a wall, an attempt at the Acid Drop leading Spike to be thrown over the top through a table on the concrete.

(During the intermission, tickets were raffled off for a "Gold Bond Mafia Lap Dance" to a lucky young lady. All proceeds went to help pay for Harry Palmer's baby's headstone. Very intersting and hilarious stuff. Especially when GBM manager of champions Dave Prazak had to physically pry the young girls hands off of "Classic" Colt Cabana's "ripe ass" as she called it.)

Suicide Kid defeated "Shadow Kid" who really turned out to be Ring Crew guy Kelly. Shadow Kid apparently didn't show up for his match and promise Kelly lots of beer money to pretend to be him in the Mask v.s. 1 year Suspension match. After unmasking "Shadow" special Referee Cash Flo attacked Suicide Kid and began an impromptu match with Mark Wolf as referee. Cash defeated Suicide via the "Oh Shit" legdrop.

In what is being billed as one of the most brutal matches in IWA history, Ian Rotten defeated B.J. Whitmer via the Double Arm DDT in an "Indian Strap Match". After the match Whitmer attacked Rotten with the strap, ripping off his shirt and busting open Rotten's back with BRUTAL lashes with the strap. Whitmer then grabbed a container of salt, threw it in Rotten's face and then proceeded to pour it on his badly wounded back. VERY BRUTAL STUFF!

2 Tuff Tony defeated Blaze for the IWA World Heavyweight Championship in a falls count anywhere battle after Tony hit the Corkscrew Splash onto Blaze from the 2nd level of the building through a table.

And in the main event, what was one of the sickest matches EVER... Mad Man Pondo DEFEATED Former ECW World Heavyweight Champion THE SANDMAN!! WHAT A MATCH!! After cane shot upon cane shot, lightubes being used, chairs, hoods of race cars, chairs and about everything else imaginable, Mad Man Pondo won with a front flip off of the top onto Sandman under 2 chairs and his STOP sign. After the match, Sandman stayed in the ring signing autographs and taking Polaroids WHILE HAVING A PIECE OF BROKEN LIGHT TUBE IN HIS EYE!! Talk about dedication to the fans!!

All in all, a GREAT night of IWA action... Our next show is coming up this Saturday Night (March 10, 2001)and will see all of the IWA Superstar in full force!!

Finally, here is a list of upcoming shows from Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling. Steve Corino will be wrestling "Colorado Kid" Mike Rapada for the NWA World Heavyweight Title. Subscribe to The ECCW Newsletter by sending an e-mail to subscribe@eccw.com. Visit ECCW on the web at www.eccw.com
