Since I follow the Indy Scene and bring you fine readers interviews with Indy Wrestlers and Managers, and the occasional person that's wrestled in ECW, WCW or The WWF, we at The Ring Post thought I should bring you some Indy News from time to time. Today's news is about Mid-American Wrestling, The IWA Mid-South, and Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling. Dawn Marie, Simon Diamond, The Sandman, Spike Dudley, Ricky Morton and Tracy Smothers all get mentioned.
Mid American Wrestling is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and it is ran by Carmine DeSpirito, AKA The Hustler. Carmine founded MAW in 1993. The Mid American Wrestling Website is www.midamericanwrestling.com To subscribe to the MAW Newsletter, send an e-mail to

Naturally, MAW will have the opportunity to bring in a variety of hardcore style wrestlers from around the country to participate in this event. IWA Mid-South Results, February 21, 2001
Harry Palmer def. Todd Morton w/ Mark Wolf as special referee when Mark decked Todd with a chain. RICKY MORTON of the Rock N Roll Express then came out and helped his little cousin Todd leave both
Mark and Harry laying until Suicide Kid made the save.
Ricky Morton def. Suicide Kid when Tracy Smothers distracted the ref after Suicide hit the Suicide Solution and Todd Morton came out and hit his finisher on Kid and pulled Ricky on top for the pin.
Paul E Smooth came out and called out Spike Dudley. This brought out 411 who chokeslammed Spike. Tracy came out to immediately start the match. Tracy Smothers wins when Mean Mitch Page came out and powerbombed Spike.
Blaze retained the heavyweight title over Rollin Hard with a small package after Rollin was thumbed in the eyes and hit Brent Blades with the samoan drop. He covered Brent thinking it was Blaze and Blaze made the three count. After Brent recovered, Blaze did the small package for the pinfall.
Cash Flo def. BJ Whitmer in a pinfalls count anywhere match. Ian stepped out of the match due to his sore shoulder. Since it was about who was a better trainer, Ian put his first graduated student in the
matchup in Cash Flo. Cash won with the Oh Shit legdrop.
Too Tuff Tony def. Mean Mitch Page. Tony stapled a bag of doritos to Mitch's head during the matchup. The end came when Spike Dudley came out and hit the acid drop on Mitch allowing Tony to get the pinfall. Thus adding Mean Mitch Page vs Spike Dudley to the 3/3 show.
IWA Mid-South is proud to announce a meet with greet with the IWA wrestlers and ECW superstars on March the 3rd. Sandman, Spike Dudley, Simon Diamond and Dawn Marie are the ECW superstars that will be in attendance as well as Ian Rotten, Harry "The Babe Magnet" Palmer and several other IWA wrestlers.
Fan Clubs members get in free and get to bring one guest with them.
If you have a ticket to the show that night you get in for $5 if you are not a fan club member.
The price is $12 if you do not have a ticket to the show nor are a fan club member.
The meet and greet will be at the Creator's House of Hardcore before the show that night. I will post the exact time tomorrow night but I think Ian said it would be from 3-5 pm.
Make your reservations on the hotline at 502-569-1701
I (Tony D.) e-mailed Simon Diamond on February 22nd and I asked him if he'd be wrestling on the IWA Mid-South show since the newsletter only said that he, Dawn and The Sandman would be at the Meet and Greet. Simon e-mailed me back on February 23rd and he said he would be wrestling at the show.
Chuckie (Chuck E. Smooth) Smooth wrestles in MAW as Chuckie Smooth, but he wrestles in IWA Mid-South as Paul E. Smooth. I have videotape of Harry Palmer from when he wrestled in MAW in 1998, and he was announced as being from "Your girlfriend's bedroom about an hour ago" which is one of the best hometowns that I've ever heard of.
ECCW is short for Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling. They are based in British Columbia. Their website is www.eccw.com and you can subscribe to their newsletter by sending an e-mail to subscribe@eccw.com

I will have an interview posted shortly here at The Ring Post with "Tasty" Travis Lee. I am also about finished with an overhaul of my website, www.cpol.net/tonyd/ and I'll be done with that soon as well. There will be about 225 pages on my site altogether once I'm finished, which should be tomorrow for sure.
Also, be sure to visit Kayfabe Memories and read the articles there about Regional Wrestling Promtions from 1975-1995, including my Central States Area articles. My most recent one is about Wahoo McDaniel and Ric Flair in May 1984.
